Investing in Your Mental Health

Initial 20-minute consultation: Free

75-minute intake assessment: $300

50-minute therapy session: $230

I am not currently in-network with any insurance companies. Many insurance companies, however, offer out-of-network benefits - contact your insurer to learn more about this option. If you are interested in using your out-of-network benefits, you would pay the full fee for your session at the time of the appointment, and I am happy to provide you with a Superbill that you can then submit to your insurance company.

I offer a limited number of sliding scale appointments for active duty service members; the session fee is prorated based on several factors, including your rank and years of service, housing status (on/off base), and dependents. Restrictions apply. Please contact me to learn more.

Free Consultation For Active Duty Service Members

Service members are often reluctant to go to therapy for fear that doing so will get back to their command and result in career consequences. The truth is, you DO have options for getting care that is confidential and not reported to anyone (with the exception of very specific limits to confidentiality, which apply for any individual receiving therapy). There are many providers and organizations through which you can receive therapy. Many are free, some will take Tricare, others (including myself) offer reduced fees for services - it’s important to consider the pros and cons of each option. I would be happy to talk through these options with you to help you determine the best choice for you.

Benefits of Private Pay Therapy

Bottom line up front - using your insurance benefits for therapy is often less expensive than private pay. That is not to be underestimated. With that said, there are several benefits of using private pay that are important to consider when deciding the best choice for you. These include:

  • You are in control of your care, including choosing the provider you see and whether you see them via telehealth. You and your therapist can also determine the number of sessions you need - not an outside insurance company.

  • Increased confidentiality - no pre-authorization needed, and your treatment information and diagnosis, if applicable, are not submitted to your insurance company.

  • No concerns about potential consequences associated with having a mental health diagnosis on file with your insurance company, which can be the case for certain career fields.

Good Faith Estimate

Healthcare providers are required by law to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for non-emergent medical items and services. You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your care will cost. I will provide you with a Good Faith Estimate prior to your intake, or upon request.
