Therapy Focus Areas
I specialize in treating difficulties with anxiety, stress, and trauma-related conditions including symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and turning to unhelpful behaviors to manage distress. I may be a good fit for you if you are interested in achieving any of the following outcomes through therapy:
Overcoming the effects of past trauma
Learning how to be in the present, instead of thinking about the past or worrying about the future
Improving your mood
Reducing stress and anxiety
Getting “unstuck” from negative thinking patterns
Communicating with others more effectively
Improving sleep
Building “emotional intelligence,” including learning how to name, express, and cope with emotions in effective and authentic ways.

Military and Veteran Communities
Military service can often introduce unique challenges as well as barriers to seeking mental health care, and finding a civilian therapist who truly understands military culture can be difficult. I have had the privilege of providing therapy for the military community for the past 15 years, and I am a military spouse. I have helped many veterans and active duty personnel overcome challenges associated with military service, including:
Combat and other military-related trauma
Military sexual trauma
Difficulties with anger
Feeling emotionally “numb” and disconnected from other people
Relationship/interpersonal difficulties
Military-to-civilian transition
